Washington, DC, our nation and our world are experiencing uncertain economic times and limited resources, it is more important than ever to ensure that there are affordable housing and economic opportunity options for families and individuals in Washington's hardest-hit neighborhoods.
As a nonprofit, we face an unprecedented threat to be able to serve our hardest-hit neighborhoods. TRJ Gould Community Development Corporation is committed to ending COVID-19. and the underlying conditions that impact Ward 7 and 8 residents. Yet, candidly, Federal and city responses to support nonprofits East of the River have been moving in the right direction, but it has not been enough. Our organizations celebrate and serves the marginalized in Washington, D.C., including Blacks, the undocumented, people with disabilities, people of color, women, immigrants, and other people living in poverty. Those in the margins will be subjected to greater harm in the weeks ahead and must be centered in this pandemic and recession. TRJ Gould Community Development is confident we and our strategic partners will rise to the challenge. But we cannot continue without the resources to do so, without being included in recovery actions, and without guaranteed commitments from Federal and city government partners, Area Foundations, and the business community..

Sincerely,
Terry Gould, President and Founder
